Preschool student in kindergarten readiness class

Students from all over the district are prepping for the 2019-20 school year by enrolling in a variety of classes through UCS Enrichment programs.  Kindergarten Readiness, prepares incoming students for the year ahead by reinforcing skills learned in preschool, and challenging children to exceed kindergarten readiness expectations.  This academic enrichment program is a unique combination of learning and fun that gives students extra practice in core curriculum areas over the summer.

These classes, taught by certified UCS teachers with back grounds in early childhood education, help build confidence and skill levels in all academic areas.  In class, children practice many important skills such as simple math, reading and writing.  They also reinforce classroom routines such as small and large group activities, independent learning, lining up, walking in the hall, raising hands, taking turns, waiting patiently and many more important skills necessary to succeed in elementary school.

Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2019 or attending Kindergarten during the 2019-20 School Year.

Multiple sessions are offered throughout the summer at 3 different locations throughout the District.  Registrations are taken by phone or online.  Call 586-797-6900 or visit http://ucscommunityeducation.org/early_childhood/kindergarten_readiness__summer_2019_.
