Nursery School Class Room

As we settle in to the new school year, nursery and preschool students from around the district have enjoyed meeting their teachers, making new friends, exploring their classrooms and learning new routines.   The preschool years are an important time in development, when children are learning and growing at a faster rate than any other time in their life.  They are developing language and learning to socialize, balance and coordination are improving, critical thinking skills start to become apparent, and they begin to show interest in the world around them.  Enrolling your child in an early childhood education program provides them with an introduction to formal schooling that helps prepare them socially, emotionally, and academically for the elementary school years and beyond.  UCS uses Creative Curriculum, a state approved curriculum in our classrooms to help children learn through play.  Carefully developed lesson plans help teachers guide learning in fun and creative ways that keep children engaged in the learning process.

Space is still available at select locations throughout the District.  To learn more about UCS Early Childhood Programs, visit www.ucscommunityeducation.com/early_childhood or call 586-797-4660 and choose option 2.
